Liposuction is a method for changing the shape of fat deposits in the body and is not a good strategy for losing weight over all. So for example, a patient with prominent Jodhpur deformities of the thighs can have these reduced to achieve a new shape. Whether she gains or loses weight that shape will remain the same.
Losing weight overall can only be achieved by diet and exercise, or bariatric surgical interventions. I will be happy to discuss this with you during a consultation.
There are numerous variants of liposuction (also called liposculpture) advertised and these can be baffling to patients. This is more so because of the extravagant and unverifiable claims that are often made about a particular system of liposuction.
I will be glad to explain the different techniques and tell you why I prefer and recommend certain standard methods.
