In November 2010 Professor Simon Kay was named as one of Britain’s top 50 doctors by The Times a position he had already achieved in a previous poll 5 years earlier.

Surgery following Massive Weight Loss

An increasingly frequent part of my practice nowadays is the reduction of skin and modification of appearance following massive weight loss usually after bariatric surgery.

The principles for this follow the well-recognised principles for other plastic surgery procedures such as

  • mastopexy,
  • abdominoplasty,
  • face lifting,
  • brachioplasty
  • and thigh reduction,

but each has specific new answers in the patient following bariatric surgery. In addition there are some procedures that have to be highly individualised, including upper and lower body-lifts which I would be happy to discuss during consultation.
